A four-session introductory course designed to help students understand the Five Pillars of Islam, their importance, and how they shape a Muslim’s daily life and worship.
What this course covers
Class # 01: Shahadah – Learn the meaning and importance of the Shahadah and believing in Allah and His Messenger ﷺ
Class # 02: Salah – Learn about the five daily prayers, their importance, and the basics of Wudu and prayer
Class # 03: Zakah & Sawm – Understand charity, Ramadan fasting, patience, generosity, and Taqwa.
Class # 04: Hajj & Review – Learn the basics of Hajj and review all Five Pillars of Islam

Course Outline
Class 1: Shahadah – The Foundation of Faith
Students learn the meaning and importance of the Shahadah, the testimony of faith: La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah ﷺ. They learn that a Muslim believes in Allah alone and follows the guidance of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The lesson focuses on Tawheed and how the Shahadah should guide our daily life.
Class 2: Salah – The Five Daily Prayers
Students learn why Salah is important and how the five daily prayers are part of a Muslim’s life. They learn the names and basic times of the prayers, the importance of Wudu, and how to develop a regular prayer habit with sincerity and concentration.
Class 3: Zakah & Sawm – Charity and Fasting
Students learn the basic meaning and purpose of Zakah and how it helps purify wealth and support those in need. They also learn about Sawm during Ramadan, including self-control, patience, gratitude, and Taqwa. The lesson encourages generosity and good character.
Class 4: Hajj – Pilgrimage & Review
Students learn the importance of Hajj, who is required to perform it, and some of its major practices. The lesson highlights obedience, sacrifice, unity, and devotion to Allah. The class concludes with a review of all Five Pillars through questions, discussion, and simple activities.
Learning Goal: Students will understand the Five Pillars of Islam and recognize their importance in a Muslim’s faith, worship, and daily life.
